Solo Farm Feature

Welcome, Arkadians! Here at Arkadia, we’re always exploring ways to enhance your experience in Ark: Survival Evolved. Today, we’re diving deep into the solo farm feature, a powerful tool designed to streamline resource gathering, particularly for solo players or those looking to optimize their farming efficiency.

What is the solo farm Feature?

The solo farm feature introduces automated harvesting swings for your dinos, allowing them to consistently gather resources without constant manual input. This is particularly useful for collecting wood, thatch, berries, and other essential materials. It’s designed to be a quality-of-life improvement, reducing the repetitive strain of manual harvesting and letting you focus on other aspects of the game, such as base building, taming, or exploring.

How Does it Work?

The feature functions by toggling an automated harvesting action on and off for a selected dinosaur. Here’s a breakdown of how to utilize it:

  • Dino Compatibility: The solo farm feature works with a wide range of dinos, but it’s crucial to understand the requirements. It supports dinos that you can:
    • Ride directly (e.g., Triceratops, Stegosaurus)
    • Stand within close proximity of
    • Carry using a flying mount such as an Argentavis, Quetzalcoatlus, or Griffin
    • Transport using a platform saddle on a Brontosaurus, or a Skiff
  • Activation Command: To enable or disable the automated harvesting, use the following command in the in-game chat: /farm.
  • Toggling the Feature: Each time you enter the /farm command, the feature will toggle its state. If harvesting is off, the command will enable it. If harvesting is already active, the command will disable it.

Key Benefits of Using solo farm

  • Increased Efficiency: Significantly reduces the time spent manually harvesting resources.
  • Reduced Strain: Minimizes repetitive actions, allowing you to focus on other gameplay elements.
  • Solo-Friendly: A particularly valuable tool for players who prefer to play solo or in small groups.
  • Versatility: Works with a wide variety of dinos commonly used for resource gathering.

Troubleshooting & Known Issues

While the solo farm feature is generally reliable, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Proximity Requirement: Ensure you are within a reasonable distance of the dino you wish to control. If the command isn’t working, try moving closer.
  • Dino Selection: The feature operates on the *last* dino that was targeted (either ridden, in proximity, or picked up). If you switch dinos frequently, you may need to re-establish proximity to ensure the correct dino is being controlled.
  • Resource Depletion: Remember that even with automated harvesting, resources will eventually deplete. You’ll still need to move to new resource nodes.
