Here at Arkadia, we’re constantly striving to improve the player experience on our servers. We understand that sometimes, despite best efforts, players can become stuck in the environment, trapped by map geometry, or held captive for extended periods. To address these frustrating situations, we’ve implemented a new in-game feature: the suicide command.
What is the Suicide Command?
The suicide command allows players to intentionally end their life and respawn at a designated spawn point. This feature is designed to provide a quick and reliable solution for players who find themselves in situations where progression is impossible without external assistance. It’s particularly useful in scenarios where a player is wedged in terrain, boxed in by structures, or relentlessly held by a dinosaur.
How to Use the Suicide Command
Using the suicide command is straightforward. Simply type /kill into the in-game chat window. Upon execution, your character will immediately die and respawn at the server’s designated spawn location. Please note that this command is case-insensitive; you can type /kill, /Kill, or /KILL – all variations will function identically.
Important Considerations & Limitations
While designed as a helpful tool, the suicide command has certain limitations to ensure fair gameplay and prevent abuse. It’s crucial to understand these restrictions before utilizing the feature:
- Knocked Down State: The command will *not* function if your character is currently downed (incapacitated). You must be fully conscious to use it.
- Handcuffed: If your character is wearing handcuffs, the command will be disabled. This prevents players from circumventing the intended mechanics of imprisonment.
- Dinosaur Grip: The command will not execute if you are currently being held by a dinosaur. This is to prevent trivializing the challenge of escaping predator attacks.
- Inventory Loss: Using the suicide command results in the standard inventory loss experienced during normal character death. All items in your inventory will be dropped at the location of your death and will be subject to the standard decay timer. Be sure to retrieve any important items before intentionally using this feature.
Why We Implemented This Feature
We recognize that getting stuck in Ark: Survival Evolved can be a significant source of frustration for players. Waiting for an administrator to assist can be time-consuming and disrupt the gameplay experience. The suicide command provides a self-service solution, empowering players to quickly resolve these situations and return to the game. This feature aims to improve the overall quality of life on our Arkadia servers.
